So, now that we have this, does anyone know what we can expect in Vol 2? BTW, how many volumes is this going to take? What kind of stories are coming up. More of the same? In the intro Jerry Bailys (? I don't have it in front of me) said something about the Spectre becoming a bumbling sidekick to cop, a la Johnny Thunder, I guess. Is the cop Corrigan, or is he written out? I remember reading somewhere that Corrigan joined the army but the Spectre stayed behind. Did that happen or was that just a Roy Thomas retcon? And how are the later stories generally regarded? I'm enjoying the first volume so much, I can't wait for the next.

From the talk I've read on this board, the next phase of Spectre, which is Percival Popp, is something DC might be loathe to approach. I hope they do.

But based on this, it appears Silver Age is the next stop for Spectre.

What's Percival Pop? Is that who Dr Balis (sp) was talking about?

Oh well. I've heard good things about Silver Age Spectre. I wouldn't mind a volume of that, but I do hope they complete the GA Spectre eventually.

Percival Popp, Top Cop, was a sleuth who wanted to be Jim Corrigan's partner and help capture the Spectre. Typical sidekick, gets in trouble and needs to be bailed out. I am in the middle of reading this series of Spectre stories from More Fun Comics on microfiche. He wore horn-rimmed glasses, his hair stuck up in the air, and I think he wore a bow tie.

Showcase and Spectre (60's) would be the best Spectre material to archive. Be nice to see his Brave and the Bold appearances, too.

The only potential problem I could see with your Spectre map is that DC very deliberately named this "The Golden Age Spectre Archives." Seems to make vol. 3 in your map problematic.

The Millenium Edition of More Fun that featured the debut of Green Arrow and Superboy also containe a Percival Pop/Spectre story (the last Spectre story?). I liked the story, even though I hated the direction taken by the series. I hope they eventually decide to finish this run because it only takes one volume (a thin one?) and its an important part of DC's history, even if it isn't a very proud one.

There are over 30 more Spectre stories from the Golden Age which need to be reprinted (around 283 pages worth if I'm reading Owen's map correctly). The character ran through More Fun 101. FYI, Green Arrow debuted in More Fun 73, not at the same time as Superboy (#101).

I knew I shouldn't have relied on my memory. Thanks for correcting me, Bill.

I really hope they don't. For good or bad, DC shouldn't be ashamed of its history. How can comic book fans really appreciate where we are if we haven't access to where we've been? I say, especially when it is a finite series from the Golden Age, like these Spectre stories, finish off the series. If "Spectre" is in the logo, I'd like to see it reprinted.
